Kingdom Leadership In Your WorkplaceSýnishorn
Defining leadership
Do you see yourself as a leader, whether you have a formal leadership role or not?
Leadership is key at every level and part of society and isn’t just for those with a formal title or position of leader. Parents are leaders in the home, teachers in the classroom, nurses on their ward… In any given situation, however small that moment may be, you have an opportunity to influence in a way that reflects the leadership of Jesus, bringing alive the words in the Lord’s Prayer ‘Your Kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.’
Leadership is visionary; the projection of personality and character to inspire a group of people to achieve a desired outcome. It is a reciprocal arrangement between those who choose to lead and those who decide to follow! Leaders who appreciate the reciprocal nature of leadership demonstrate the importance and benefits of teamwork and are inclusive, not exclusive, inviting others to participate in their vision. Even those who have a formal leadership title face the reality that, if no one follows, they are simply taking a solitary walk!
What do you look for in a leader that would make you choose to follow? Maybe it’s all the above, plus their enthusiasm and optimism or how they develop others around them? Maybe it’s how they support and actively listen to the ideas, challenges and worries of others? Leadership is not so much about what you do but who you are and how you behave.
As a leader, which attributes do you excel in and which do you need to develop? Seek God’s guidance in how you can grow in these areas.

About this Plan
Jesus was not just a spiritual leader. Such a perception underplays his leadership capability, considering how he transformed twelve ordinary and if we are honest, unlikely men, into the first generation of leaders of a movement that continues to affect the course of world history 2,000 years later. Jesus provides the template for Kingdom-style leadership that we can model to transform any given situation, team or organization. More than ever, good biblical leadership is required not only in our church environment but in every area of society. Regardless of your title, role or status you have an opportunity to bring about cultural transformation by positioning yourself as a Kingdom-style leader. What leadership opportunities do you have as you go about your daily activities and how can you learn to lead like Jesus? Let’s explore this over the next seven days.
