Aquifer of Joy and Purpose
Have you heard of an aquifer? An aquifer is an underground water source. Harris County’s aquifer is the Gulf Coast. That’s why we don’t pour paint down our drain because it would end up in our water source. Aquifers require deep digging to get to the water source. Even if it hasn’t rained, we have water thanks to the aquifer.
Jesus is our aquifer of joy and purpose. What this means is that the connection and fellowship you make with Jesus Christ when you accept Him as your Savior goes deep down. It does not matter if you’re going through a difficult time in your life, He is the provider of joy and purpose. In the midst of trials, He can be joy.
John testifies, “We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. We write this to make our joy complete.” Through sharing this, John says his joy was complete. It was not through receiving but through sharing. Obedience brings greater joy, not sin. Sharing with others brings greater joy, not taking from others. Loving not hating brings greater joy.
It comes through Jesus Christ, the son of God, who was 100% man and 100% God, coming into our hearts. And because of that, we can now have communion with Him and have communion with others. We can love and connect from the heart with others through the aquifer of joy and purpose. He digs deep down in our hearts, transforms us, and gives us joy even in the midst of our circumstances, and purpose here on earth.

About this Plan
Loving God first and foremost is the first step towards loving first. God equals love. He sent His son to die for us. The love God has for us does not compare to any other love you will experience. It’s a love that impacts and transforms. When we choose to love God first, we are capable of loving others even when it may seem hard to do so. God changes our hearts with love.
