Prophecy: Jesus & His Birth - Preparing For Christmas Series #2

DAY 2 OF 6

Messiah would spend a season in Egypt

Thoughts on the Passage

When we read Hosea, we may not see this passage as a prophetic passage. It is about God calling the nation of Israel out of Egypt into their destiny. They became a nation in Egypt but they were like a young child who did not really understand the purpose God had for them – but God did, and it was time to call them out.

Here, it was time to send Jesus to Egypt where He could be protected. Then it was time to call the family back to the land of Israel. God sent Jesus to Egypt to protect Him. Egypt did the job well. Now it is time to come back. It is time to prepare this child for the destiny that God had for Him. It was time to come back and learn the Word of God, learn His destiny, and learn the culture and history of God’s people. So it was time to call Jesus back.

Have you heard God call you to learn your destiny? That time will come. He may be calling you even now. So listen carefully.

Time to Pray

Father, I remember the day that You called me to be Your child. I remember the time I committed to learn Your word. I remember the season where I realized that You had a special task for me. It was both wonderful and scary. I did not think You had such a great calling on my life. Still, as I child, I see that You are leading. Whether it is big or small, You are leading us into a destiny that is perfect. Now help us walk in that destiny. In Jesus’ Name Amen.
