Steadfast Love in Affliction

DAY 3 OF 3

In our minds, we may think we believe that God is love and that His steadfast love endures forever, yet in the time of trial we find ourselves only saying a quick prayer and then running everywhere else to find help except to Him. Do we believe only to a point? Do we truly put our trust in Him? Also, as sad as it is, we can sometimes take God’s love for granted. We know it’s there, but we don’t live our lives in grateful response to it. We think of calling and depending on a friend when life is hard rather than talking to God and listening for His voice throughout the day.

It is good to have friends to go to when hardship hits. Many times God even ministers His grace through them. But He must be our ultimate source of comfort, deliverance, and steadfast love. May we take to heart the truth of God’s unfailing love and what it means for our lives. May we remember who God is and all He has done. And may we cling to the promise of His steadfast love, knowing it endures forever.

He is the only one who holds the whole world in His hands and carries each one of His children in His heart. Always.

Close in prayer. Praise the Lord for His steadfast love. Confess any unbelief, mistrust, or lack of gratitude. Thank Him for His mercy and grace. Rejoice in Him and rest in His love and care.
