Ephesians 1:4
Ephesians 1:3-6 The Message (MSG)
How blessed is God! And what a blessing he is! He’s the Father of our Master, Jesus Christ, and takes us to the high places of blessing in him. Long before he laid down earth’s foundations, he had us in mind, had settled on us as the focus of his love, to be made whole and holy by his love. Long, long ago he decided to adopt us into his family through Jesus Christ. (What pleasure he took in planning this!) He wanted us to enter into the celebration of his lavish gift-giving by the hand of his beloved Son.
Ephesians 1:4 King James Version (KJV)
according as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love
Ephesians 1:4 New American Standard Bible - NASB 1995 (NASB1995)
just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him. In love
Ephesians 1:4 New Century Version (NCV)
That is, in Christ, he chose us before the world was made so that we would be his holy people—people without blame before him.
Ephesians 1:4 American Standard Version (ASV)
even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blemish before him in love
Ephesians 1:4 New International Version (NIV)
For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love
Ephesians 1:4 New King James Version (NKJV)
just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love
Ephesians 1:4 Amplified Bible (AMP)
just as [in His love] He chose us in Christ [actually selected us for Himself as His own] before the foundation of the world, so that we would be holy [that is, consecrated, set apart for Him, purpose-driven] and blameless in His sight. In love
Ephesians 1:4 New Living Translation (NLT)
Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes.
