Stronger Than The Struggle: 5 Day DevotionalMinta
When it comes to my relationship with God, I tend to major in the minors. My focus gravitates to my mistakes and shortcomings, and I start to worry about how I measure up against everybody else and whether God will leave any blessing for my imperfect self. A mind-set like this traps us into performance and perfectionism before we know it, and we end up ignoring the important things—the calls of God on our lives. Why do we do this? We fear our best won’t be good enough, that if we reach for what God offers, we will expose our deepest fears of rejection and abandonment. So we don’t reach at all, and we miss out on enjoying our time together.
Stronger Than the Struggle is my passionate pursuit to do the opposite of this, to reset our confused perspectives and help uncomplicate the spiritual battles we all face so we can walk freely and fully on the path God has laid out for us. It’s about not making a big deal out of small things and ruining our time together with the Holy Spirit. It’s about being well equipped for the big stuff in our spiritual lives, so we stay influential in our daily lives.
Is spiritual warfare a big subject? Yes. Can it feel overwhelming? Sometimes. But we remain overwhelmed when we either don’t know where to start or don’t think we have what it takes to get there.
Don’t think for one moment you aren’t well equipped for the battle. You have everything you need to thrive. Take a deep breath of relief. You are ready to go!
We are amid a life-or-death fight, but it won’t last forever. There will come a time, whether it’s in heaven when we arrive or on earth when Christ returns, when the battle will end. Christ will have his reward. And this is what we fix our eyes on as we continue in our daily struggles: the hope of our future.
So, my friend, until we meet on earth or see each other in eternity, hold fast to truth and walk forward in the confidence that, because of Jesus, you really are stronger than the struggle.

"Why do I still struggle if I'm faithfully following God?" We all face challenges. On any given day, the problems of real life can take our breaths away. Our marriages, finances, relationships, and health are regular struggles, and that's just the beginning. Doesn't the Bible say the war has already been won? So why do we still battle? With humor and honesty, Havilah Cunnington lays out practical tools to thrive in the face of hardship, enabling us to walk forward in the confidence that, because of Jesus, we really are stronger than the struggle.
