The Switch - Embracing the Transformative Power of ChristMinta
The Power of Christ's Redemption
The Gospel is the good news about God, which is the power of God. Our power is in our identification, which is in the finished work of Christ Jesus. We are free because He has called us free. We are blessed because He has called us blessed. God’s power is the ability to redeem.
The essence of the Gospel lies in the transformative power of God's message, which liberates and empowers us. Our identity is rooted in Christ's finished work on the cross, where He took upon Himself our sins and shortcomings, exchanging them for His righteousness. This divine exchange is irreversible, and through it, we become the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.
It is important as believers to refuse to allow external factors to define who we are. Our true identity is found in Christ, and it is established by God's declaration over our lives. We need to vehemently refuse anything attempting to steal our identity. As He is, so are you in this world and you are who God says you are.
2 Corinthians 5:17 lets us know that Christ made the great exchange. “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” The exchange is irreversible as all our iniquities have been placed on Him and nailed with Him on the cross; in this revelation we know that we are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. Therefore, we can receive Jesus because we have been saved by His grace.
A baby christian is similar to an infant in their spiritual journey, unaware of their true identity as the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. This lack of understanding hinders their spiritual growth, for it is through the acknowledgment and embracing of this truth that one finds assurance and maturity in their faith. Just as Hebrews 5:13 states, "Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness." Therefore, to progress beyond spiritual infancy, it is crucial for believers to grasp and internalize the foundational truth of their righteousness in Christ, allowing them to grow and flourish in their walk with God.
Pray:
I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.
I am not what I did, the exchange was made.
He took my sin, I took His righteousness.
He took my pain, I took His power.
He took my misery from me and gave me ministry.
He took my story and replaced it with His glory in Jesus’ name. Amen
