Dinner With JesusMinta
Have you ever had to run across an airport carrying all of your luggage, carry groceries up six flights of stairs, or lug a backpack full of books across town? When you finally get where you’re going and can put it all down...there is immediate relief! Your muscles can relax and your breathing can slow down. When Jesus said this to the crowd, everyone there would have been familiar with this sensation.
When we allow Jesus to take both the burdens we feel and the burdens we carry with us, we can also experience relief—rest. And the best part is? That, in and of itself, is a form of worship. Allowing Jesus to take what is weighing us down, what we were never meant to carry, is a way to honor God and God’s role in our lives. Taking God’s Word seriously, the promise of rest in an exhausting world is worship and a way for us to worship right now.
