Some essential attributes and deeds of God our Father

Our relationship with the Father deepens when we understand his character. His character gives us confidence that we can approach Him and that He wants to show Himself to us so that we can know He loves us. He knows where we've walked and can heal each wounded heart and broken place.

He's the only One who can work so powerfully that He can somehow take all our hurts and turn them around for good. He can bring blessings from the hardest of places so that, down the road, we can bring hope to the soul of another, grow stronger, and learn to lean on His faithfulness.

He is loving – See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! (1 John 3:1).

Compassionate – The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love (Psalm 103:8).

Faithful – The Lord's loving kindnesses indeed never cease, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness (Lamentations 3:22-23).

Merciful – But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy (Ephesians 2:4-5).

Forgiving – If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).

Sovereign – The LORD has established his throne in heaven, and his kingdom rules over all. (Psalm 103:19).

Ever-Present – God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. (Psalm 46:1).

The One who makes all things new– He who was seated on the throne said, "I am making everything new!" Then He said, "Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true" (Revelation 21:5).
