A Burden for Prayer: 5 Days to Prayer Motivated by the Holy SpiritMinta
Seek to live in integrity before God
As you read Paul’s writings, you will see the phrases “before Him” and “God is my witness.” This practice of living in God’s presence is described by the apostle John as “walking in the light” and means to live openly, honestly, and transparently before God (1 John 1:7) with a clear conscience, forsaking any known sin (Prov. 28:13) or dubious habits (Rom. 14:23). Living in this integrity protects and guards you from being open to the deception of false burdens and taking on sacrifices that are not prompted or energized by God but result in dead works. It also enables you to enjoy His presence and rest in the assurance that you are never alone (Heb. 13:5–6).
The story goes that Martin Luther was asked one day, “Where would you be if all your followers were to leave you?” The German reformer replied, “I would be right in the presence of God.”
