Just Don't Give Up! - Part 5: My Battle, His BattleMinta
Worry Not
“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” – Matthew 6:34
I stared at the sky from the window of my hospital bed. During those days, I dreaded sunset the most. While there is a lot of beauty in it, it is also the time when darkness approaches, and another day passes. With cancer, I could never be sure about tomorrow. My emotions revolved around fear and anxiety. My faith was challenged. I was in dire need of reassurance for my tomorrow.
Right at that moment, God reminded me of the small garden in the hospital where I usually go to refresh my mind. Plants and flowers. Birds and insects. “I take care of all of them. You are more valuable than all these. Will I not take care of you?”, whispered the little voice I recognized. My heart pounded.
We can have many things to worry about in the future. But Jesus said that none of our worries will add a single hour to our life. Many times, it works the other way. It is God who gave us strength yesterday that will give us strength for today and tomorrow. It is He who delivered us in the past and will deliver us again.
My friend, if you are worrying right now, look at the birds in the sky. Listen to their chirping. Look at the flowers in the garden. Observe the beauty of their colors. God is speaking to you, “You are more valuable than all these.” He will take care of you. He knows your worries and He knows your needs. He holds your tomorrow. He plans for your future.
Learn to equip yourself with His Word, not with fear. Seek Him, and all things will be given to you. Breakthrough. Healing. Freedom. It is His desire to bless you with tomorrow, with His grace and mercy new every morning. May you find assurance in this Word and rest well knowing the One who holds your tomorrow.
It is perfectly fine to not worry when we are in the valleys. That is how it should be!
