Day 4: MARITAL PLEASURE AND INTIMACY

“May you rejoice in the wife of your youth. A loving doe, a graceful deer— may her breasts satisfy you always, may you ever be intoxicated with her love.” PROVERBS 5:18–19

RECITE GOD’S GOODNESS
Beloved God, You created man and woman in Your own image and declared them “very good.” It was Your delight to design husbands and wives to enjoy sexual pleasure with one another. What an incredible gift You’ve given us!

EXPRESS YOUR NEEDINESS
Creator God, may our affections be only for one another, so that we would find satisfaction in our intimate moments. Help us protect our marriage bed and guard against anything that would taint our unity. Give us hearts to serve each other well, so we may increasingly enjoy the pleasures of physical, emotional, and relational intimacy.

SEEK HIS STILLNESS
Take a few moments to ponder this mystery: the sexual union of believers in the covenant of marriage reflects the beauty of Christ and His church. In what ways does your marriage reveal aspects of this divine union? Sit quietly in God’s presence, and let Him lead you in a deeper understanding of His love.

TRUST HIS FAITHFULNESS
Lord God, we haven’t done this marriage thing perfectly, but I trust that You will continue to bring healing to our sexual wounds and harmony to our sexual union. You’ve given us a priceless gift, and I thank You for all You’ve done, and for all You have yet to do in our marriage.
