Physical Needs
Ps. 23:5a “You prepare a table [a feast] before me in the presence of my enemies...” [NRSV & NLT]
An enemy is anything that threatens our supply or safety. God is not subject to anyone or any circumstance that threatens our supply or safety. God can set a table for you in the presence of inflation, depression, or recession. If the Lord is your Shepherd, He will meet your physical needs. To prepare a table goes beyond making a meal. God does not just feed us, He treats us with honor by setting a table before us. God is our Source and our Supply; He makes the meal, and He sets the table. Every time you get provision, it is appropriate to say, “thank you.” If God is your Shepherd, He will set a table for you among your enemies. Newsflash! God does not always take out all ‘our enemies’ the things that threaten our supply. It is to show us that He is Bigger than our enemies and to prove that He is on our side.
Ps. 23:5b “…you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows with blessings.” [NRSV & NLT]
Overflow means excess, surplus, or inability to accommodate available space. God does not stop when our cup is full. It is an honor to be anointed by God.=. I pray that God will anoint you with His fresh oil upon your head, and your cup will overflow with blessings in the Name of Jesus.
Pray for yourself, your children [even those yet unborn], and for the Church of Jesus Christ. Say, “Father, prepare a feast, a banquet for us right in the presence of our enemies, and paralyze them in the Name of Jesus. Father, honor us by anointing our heads with Your holy oil. Pour your oil upon us without measure and let our cups overflow and keep overflowing with your blessings, your power, your presence, and your glory in the Mighty Name of Jesus.
As you sing this Hymn, bring all your physical needs to mind and focus your heart on the Good Shepherd, the shepherd of your soul. Make it your declaration that the Lord is my shepherd, and I am His sheep, I will hear His voice, and I will follow His leading.
Shepherd of my soul I give you full control,
Wherever You may lead I will foll-ow.
I have made the choice to listen for Your vo-ice,
Wherever You may lead I will go.
Be it in a quiet pasture or by a gentle stream,
The Shepherd of my soul is by my side.
Should I face a mighty mountain or a valley dark and deep,
The Shepherd of my soul will be my guide.
Shepherd of my soul Oh You have made me whole,
Where’er I hear You call how my tea-ars flow.
How I feel your love how I want to se-rve
I gladly give my heart to You O – Lord.
Be it in the flowing river or in the quiet night,
The Shepherd of my soul is by my side.
Should I face the stormy weather or the dangers of this world.
The Shepherd of my soul will be my guide.

Having the Lord as a Shepherd, as The Shepherd, or as our Shepherd would be mind-blowing. But it has to be the Lord is 'my personal shepherd,' and that is the most astonishing truth. If the Lord is your Shepherd, and you are His sheep, He will take care of EVERYTHING. Special thanks to Martin Nystrom for the Hymn "Shepherd of my soul" featured in this plan.
