Summer- Written by Rose Snowzell
Day 21 - PEACE
For many of us, the long days of summer mean time spent enjoying the warmth, the slower pace, and the sun on our skin. In the United Kingdom, daily doses of summer sun are not guaranteed, even in our ‘hottest’ months. When the sun does come it seems that the whole of the nation finds whatever spot of warmth for as long as possible until sunset. Maybe because it feels good, and maybe because it’s actually good for our souls to step away from the busyness of our daily life and slow the pace down, basking in warmth and light.
God’s presence is a light to us, and His love warms our lives. When was the last time you slowed the pace of your life down to simply enjoy that warmth for a moment? We all have access to a love that is so good for our souls when we draw closer to our Father. Today, take a moment to simply bask in that goodness, and let God’s peace permeate your daily routine, Ecclesiastes 3:8.
What does God’s love feel like to you?
How can you embrace peace in your day today, as you enjoy the love of God?
Summer is a time to enjoy the peaceful pace, before Autumn hits and harvest starts. Store up some time dwelling in God’s presence in this season, in preparation for the work and change to come, Psalm 23:1-3. Reflecting on who God is, how deeply, constantly, and unfailingly He loves you, will bring a powerful peace to your life and provide an antidote to the striving and the performance mentality that we can sometimes fall into.
How can you speak this kind of peace and refreshing into those around you?
