 A FATHER'S WISE ADVICE

Get wisdom; develop good judgment.

Don’t forget my words or turn away from them. (Proverbs 4:5)

Getting wisdom is the wisest thing you can do!

And whatever else you do, develop good judgment. (Proverbs 4:7)

How do we get wisdom? Simply ask for it.

5If you need wisdom, ask our generous God and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. (James 1:5)

How do we develop good judgement?

Anything that needs to be developed requires exercise, practice and repetition.  If we want to develop muscles, we must exercise, lift weights, eat right and be consistent.  There is a process which takes places.  It is the same with developing good judgment.

We develop good judgment by having an intimate knowledge of the Holy One which results in good judgment. (Proverbs 9:10)

We also develop good judgement by renewing our minds and not copying the customs and behaviors of this world (Romans 12:2)

The renewing of our minds is not a one-time occurrence rather it is a daily process.  As we engage in the process of renewing our minds and seeking a personal and intimate knowledge of the Holy One through the Word, we develop good judgment.
