Showdown

JOU 10 SOU 20

There are so many things that might feel impossible in life. Becoming a millionaire, getting your kids to school on time, not having awkward conversations with your in-laws at the holidays, finding friends in a new city—it all feels impossible in big and small ways. It’s often the things that feel the most impossible that we choose not to even try. We never approach them because we think we can’t do it. So, why even try? Well, peace with others may be one of the things we’d put on our seemingly impossible list. When we think peace isn’t possible in a relationship, what do we do? Avoid them, ignore them, push them away. We don’t even try because it doesn’t seem like something we can do.

That’s when it’s important to remember that peace comes from God. Choosing peace in our own power may not be possible. But with God, it’s definitely possible. The peace we find in God is a peace that will cover our minds, our hearts, and our relationships. So, don’t try to make peace possible by yourself. Instead, ask God’s Spirit to help you find it. Let the Holy Spirit work in you to work through you to live at peace with those around you.
