Jesus First for Men

JOU 5 SOU 5

Equal Measures

We can’t expect to get what we do not give. When we do, that is the grace of God, but tempting His grace repeatedly is a sure way to land ourselves in trouble. When we treat others harshly, discourage those close to us, and don’t put work into our lives, we will receive the same treatment in return. We will not find grace by giving judgment. Jesus says, “In the same way you judge others, you will be judged.” This is often how the world works too. When we treat others badly, they will be embittered and treat us badly in return.

Priorities are all around us. Our careers, significant others and friends, and our churches all ask for a portion of our lives. If we put the things of this world first, like pay raises and pleasure, we will likely be blessed with them. But if we pour a great measure of ourselves into relationships, acts of compassion, and kindness, we will receive the same in return.

Dear God, teach me to use the measure of my life for good. I want to be man who gives abundantly; may I be fit to receive the same.

Jesus First for Men

Calling on men. When do you find time to connect with God? Even if we try to be intentional about it, everyday activities and responsibilities often find a way to take priority over our time with Jesus. Putting Jesus first through prayer and devotion can help and you’ll discover that other concerns you have will fade. Find the strength to walk through each day with grace for others and yourself.
