Parasha Minute: Genesis / Breisheet

"People with a Mission"

Of all the prophets addressing the people of Israel and Judah, Yesha‘yahu’s (Isaiah’s) writings contain the most number of Messianic prophesies. As Assyria and later Babylon rose in power, it was crucial for God’s chosen people to claim the promise of a Savior…first prophesied in Eden. While Satan conspires to confuse and muddle the truth, Isaiah is an example of one voice who urged Isra’el to remember Who their God was. As a people who had experienced God in the course of their history, a God Who intervened, Isra’el was in a unique position to reveal God and the promised Messiah to the world. Points to Ponder: How has God intervened in your life story? Who have you told?
