Today's Surrender Is Tomorrow's FreedomEgzanp
We all come to crossroads where we could go on as we have been and get what we’ve always gotten, or we can raise the white flag of surrender to God and experience something new.
Consider Jesus’ last words before returning to heaven: “...you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth” (Acts 1:8).
Historically, Christians have understood these city names in different ways. For example, we could say that Jesus is calling us to be His witnesses everywhere:
- in Jerusalem: the places where we go about our everyday life,
- in Judea & Samaria: the places where we go only when we absolutely must,
- and to the ends of the earth: everywhere else.
We turn real geographic locations into symbols. After all, it would be impossible for Christians in Wherever, USA to start sharing the Gospel in Jerusalem, Israel, so we should start where we are - our Jerusalem.
But what if we could share the Gospel in Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth from our own home, wherever it’s found? What if our desire to tell others about Jesus was not limited by time zones and geography?
Yesterday, hundreds of ordinary Christians chose a time and place in their homes to tell others about Jesus - others who were in a different city, state, or country. These people are Groundwire coaches, and through the ministry of Groundwire, more than 350,000 people worldwide made professions of faith in Jesus Christ in the first 9 months of 2022.
As a Groundwire coach, you choose when you want to be available to take incoming chats with people seeking help, and you use technology you already have alongside tools and training Groundwire provides.
Being a Groundwire coach requires surrender. A Groundwire coach surrenders time, energy, what they already know about evangelism, and the desire to be accepted by everybody - all in order to be Jesus’ witnesses to the ends of the earth from their living room.
Being a Groundwire coach is not the only way to fulfill Acts 1:8, but if you are not already actively sharing your faith somewhere, why not join us? We’ll train you to share the Gospel effectively and give you opportunities to share Jesus with people coming in search of answers. You can learn more at groundwire.net/coaching.

For centuries the white flag has been the universal symbol of surrender. We like to see the white flag when our enemy is flying it, but when we are the ones hoisting it, we're dismayed. However, to be faithful followers of Jesus, surrender is required. Let’s look at some areas where we can trust God to help us in those places where we may struggle with surrender.
