Moses Speaks to Each of Us.

Leaders equip others. As Moses approached his death, he stayed focused on using every opportunity to prepare people for the next season in their history. It has been said that we may teach what we know, but we reproduce who we are. As a great example of humility to the entire nation, Moses took ownership of his failures. He spoke to the people, saying, "I messed up, and there are consequences that I cannot avoid, and I won't be going into Canaan. Now, I have some important things to share."

This skilled and humble man then said to all the nation that looked to him: "Be courageous, do not be afraid. God will be with you, go before you, and never leave you."

He appointed his successor, Joshua, and encouraged him to remain courageous and strong. Moses continued, saying, "you will cause God's people to inherit the land."

Moses' instructions speak to today's leaders, reminding us that our walk with Christ impacts others; as Paul said in 1 Corinthians, "Follow me as I follow Christ." A leader, an influencer, sees the land God is calling us to and says, "Let's go. And let's go together."

Moses also gave instructions to the priests. Christians are called a royal priesthood in the New Testament. Moses instructs us to read the word, share the word, flood our families with the word, and avail ourselves of every gathering that will bring strength to our walk with Him.

Question: Are you comfortable being open about your mess-ups, or are you quick to get defensive and shore up your outward appearances?

Prayer Focus: Ask God to help you trust Him and be more transparent, courageous, and faith-filled. Ask your friend, the Holy Spirit, to open up His Word in more significant ways and saturate your mind with truth. Let Him show you in what areas fear may be hindering your forward growth and take authority over that spirit of fear.

Special Assignment: Who can you encourage today? Instead of losing some time on social media, could you text a word of encouragement to someone or call to remind them that their life matters and stir up their gifts?
