The Resurrection

"Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen!” Luke 24:5-6

This statement is such an important part of our faith as Christians. The resurrection of Jesus, as described in Luke 24, is the cornerstone of the Christian belief system. Praise God, we do not worship a man who was once alive and is now dead, but rather, we worship a risen Savior who is alive! For many Christians, that is where the power of the resurrection ends, as far as our day-to-day lives, but the truth is that through Jesus, the resurrection power of Christ now lives inside of you and me, and that changes everything.

Romans 8:11 in the New International Reader’s Version says,

“The Spirit of the God who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you. So the God who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your bodies. He will do this because of his Spirit who lives in you.”

Through Jesus, we have resurrection power over the grave and ultimately have eternal life. This power also translates to everything in our day-to-day lives. Whether it be the grave of shame, the grave of sickness, or the grave of fear, Jesus has overcome it all through His resurrection. So, let that fill you with confidence, hope, and faith today - that Jesus has already defeated death, and the grave no longer has power over you!
