Beloved Martha, It's Okay To Rest!Egzanp
God Loves His Doers!
Before we conclude this journey in reflections of Martha’s episode, I must say this: There's no condemnation of Martha or Doers here. None! We need to be reminded that God loves His Doers! We are His good idea. God, our loving Father, designed us purposefully and our personalities are gifts.
I disagree with those who want to label Martha as bad because of her choices made in Luke 10:39-41. I assert her priorities, not her character, were misaligned. Martha’s boldness, generosity, and hospitality set the stage for her family to experience a special time of fellowship with Jesus.
Things went awry for Martha when she burdened herself with unnecessary expectations, prompting her to ask Lord, don’t you care?
I’ve been there and asked the similar question of God, do you care?
God has answered me, and His response has been a consistent and persistent Yes, I care for you!
Scriptural Demonstration of God’s steadfast love and care for us:
Psalms 139:4-5, TPT: “…You know every step I will take before my journey even begins. You’ve gone into my future to prepare the way, and in kindness you follow behind me to spare me from the harm of my past. You have laid your hand on me!”
1 Peter 5:7, AMP: “…casting all your cares [all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares about you [with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully]."
Matthew 11:28-30, TPT: “Are you weary, carrying a heavy burden? Come to me. I will refresh your life, for I am your oasis. Simply join your life with mine. Learn my ways and you’ll discover that I’m gentle, humble, easy to please. You will find refreshment and rest in me. For all that I require of you will be pleasant and easy to bear.”
We Doers act. God loves His Doers and wants the best for us. He simply wants us to do from a different foundation: Him instead of self. Him being our strength and our rest. Beloved Doer and Child of God, It’s Okay and Essential to Rest in God!
