The Body of Christ

JOU 2 SOU 5

Together Bring His Love

I have had a certain song stuck in my head for days. It goes like this:

I am the eye I go blink, blink; yes I am the eye and I can wink; I am the eye but I can’t think; that belongs to my friend the brain.

I go lub dub. Lub dub I go. I am the heart; I pump like so. I’m bringing life to all the parts. I am consistent I’m the heart We are the body of Christ.

We are the body of Christ. Together bringing His love to the world. We work together. We work together. We do it with cooperation. Amen

If you know the song, you’ll know how easy this tune can get stuck in your head. But I don’t mind. Sometimes it’s in the simplest of things we find the deepest truth. In this children’s song, I’m reminded that we need our ears and eyes just as much as we need our arms and heart.

Now more than ever, we’ve been reminded that when we’re kept apart from each other is when we need each other the most. Maybe you can be someone’s eyes today. Or maybe you can provide the arms they need right now. Or maybe you can be the voice of light into a dark mind. Whatever the role, the most important thing is that you play it. Together, we can bring His love to the world.

The Body of Christ

If you attended Sunday School growing up, the term ‘the body of Christ’ is not unfamiliar. However, it’s easy to forget that we are a part of a body of Christ and that we each have a unique role to play. Be reminded that you that you are a part of the body of Christ, and that God has created you specially to play your unique role within that body.
