What to Do When You Feel Anxious

JOU 3 SOU 3

It’s hard to be anxious when you remember who you are in Christ and that you have everything you need to live a life of victory. Ephesians 3:1 says, Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ.

That verse assures you that you have every blessing! You have all the protection, all the provision, all the healing, all the peace, all the wisdom (and more!) that you’ll need in every situation.

Think of it this way: Jesus is sitting at the right hand of the Father, and you are seated with Him: Even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 2:5-6). Your redemption is finished, and you’re sitting in the power position.

The important thing is for you meditate on (think about) those truths, instead of whatever might make you anxious. God wants you to have peace and joy, no matter what’s going on around you. You can live above the cares, stresses, pressures of this world, when you know who you are, and what belongs to you as a child of God.

Of course, you find that in the Bible. That’s why it’s so important to read it, memorize it, and think on it every day.

Here’s what Jesus is saying to you today – it’s the opposite of anxiety: Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid (John 14:27).

Say this with me: “I refuse to be anxious anymore….instead I will think about who God says I am…..I will think about ALL the spiritual blessings I have in Him…. …I’ll keep my focus on His love, His power, and His plan for me…I’ll keep believing and watching my thoughts….I am not troubled or afraid, in Jesus’ Name!”
