JOU 17 SOU 28

THE POWER OF SAME MISSION

Finish the Job

The most impressive missions don't just start strong, they finish strong.

King Artaxerxes had a servant called Nehemiah. Broken-hearted over his city, which had been turned to rubble, Nehemiah begged King Artaxerxes to allow him to rebuild the city walls of Jerusalem.

In other words, Nehemiah turned his misery into his ministry.

It's no surprise that Nehemiah faced a lot of resistance and disapproval along the way. Whenever any of us dedicate ourselves to the mission of living for God, our spiritual Enemy will do everything he can to get in the way of our purpose.

When our mission is valuable, we become vulnerable. Yet, just like Nehemiah, if we see it through and finish the job no matter what, the world will see that it wasn't just our accomplishment, but a work of God Himself.

Pray:

Heavenly Father, You are a present help in my times of trouble. Burden my heart for Your purposes and give me an opportunity to meet someone else's need for Your sake. I know You will protect me along the way so that I may complete the mission You lay before me. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Learning how to stay committed to the same Spirit, Actions, Mission, and Environment unlocks the Power of Same in our lives, and helps us establish the good habit of fulfilling Jesus’ greatest command: loving Him with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. Every day. Again and again.
