Lightning

PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father God, thank You for sending Your only Son, Jesus, to save us from our sins. We fervently await the day when our Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of Your trumpet. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then those who are alive, who are left, will be caught up with them in the clouds to meet our Lord in the air, so we will always be with Him (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17). Just as lightning pierces the darkness, so will our Savior illuminate the world.

We pray, O Lord, that our hearts will be found faithful on that great day — whether He returns in our lifetime or in generations to come. Please remind us through Your Spirit to be diligent with the time we have left on this earth by sharing Your great light with the world around us. May we honor You each and every day, not wasting the time You have given us.
