How to Survive the Storms of Lifeनमूना
The Storm of God’s Wrath
“Behold, the storm of the Lord! Wrath has gone forth, a whirling tempest; it will burst upon the head of the wicked.” (Jeremiah 23:19-20)
In Mark 4, we read about a natural storm. The wind and the waves were very real. But there are also figurative storms that rage in our lives. The worst of these is the storm of God's anger at our sin.
Jeremiah tells how false prophets reassure the people: “nothing will happen to you, everything will be all right!” They don't take God's response to human sin seriously. But that is a life-threatening mistake. God has every right to expect us to obey Him; after all, He created us! If we disobey Him and do all kinds of bad things, we will be punished. This can already happen during our earthly life, but it will certainly happen after our death, when we have to appear before God's heavenly court. Then, if it turns out that we are “wicked”, God's wrath will be poured out on us like a whirling storm. That will be terrible...
