Salty Lemonade: A Refreshing Twist on the Recipe for Overcoming Adversityדוגמה

Most of us have heard the saying “When life hands you lemons, you make lemonade.” It is a well-worn anecdote which reminds us to take the challenges of life and turn them into something positive. Of course, when you’re in the midst of trouble, the last thing you want to hear is old clichés and tired sayings. The beauty of the old is turning it into something so new that you never recognized how valuable it was until you dusted it off. The challenge here is to take the lemons you’ve been given, create the lemonade and make it taste so amazing that everyone is begging for the recipe. The twist to this recipe is that you add salt instead of sugar because the salt is your secret ingredient! 

That’s our mission and our goal for this 10-day Salty Lemonade Challenge. How do we respond to adversity, trials, and trouble in life? Believers are called to be “salty” according to Matthew 5:13, therefore a certain response is needed if we are to maintain our flavor. People should want to know the “how” and “why” of our journey. This is an invitation to share the “Who” – The Great I Am who walks beside us during turbulent times. Maybe you need a reminder of how to push through this season of life. Perhaps you want to get unstuck from the “woe is me” attitude you’ve been wallowing around in. The reality is that many people know the feeling of being in the midst of a storm and not knowing how or when it will end.

Your Day One Challenge is to find ten words in the scripture that describe the attributes of a Kingdom-minded person such as: overcomer, conqueror, victorious, etc...and write or type them so you can post them in a prominent place as a reminder. You ARE a Salty, Well-Lit, Kingdom Citizen who is creating Salty Lemonade out of the lemons life has handed you!
