Introduction

Life is a journey, and as we experience different seasons, we can take comfort in knowing that each season has a purpose, including the season of uncertainty.

Every person will face a season of uncertainty in life, and no one can escape it. However, God has good news: no valley is too deep, and no valley is too dark.

My friend, if you feel that your valley is too deep today, I want to encourage you that you can still walk through your valley victoriously. Your valley is not as dark as you imagine.

When I was diagnosed with cancer, my family and I had to deal with a lot of uncertainties. I had faced many adversities in the past, but cancer brought me to fear as I had never felt before. I was stuck in a valley so deep that I didn’t know how to climb, so dark that I didn’t know where to walk.

But this experience reminded me of Psalm 23, a beautiful chapter in the Bible that I have always loved. It has been my favorite chapter since God took me from the darkness and let me enter into His grace. The valley of the shadow of death (verse 4) was exactly where I was, grappling with the possibility of death due to cancer and leaving my loved ones with many things unsettled.

But, wait a second! God doesn’t speak about the valley of death; He talks about the valley of the shadow of death. It is only the shadow and not death itself!

My friend, if you are diagnosed with cancer or other life-threatening conditions, I want to tell you that hope still exists. Similar to walking in the dark, we have God, our partner, to walk with us on the journey, our torch to diminish the dark, and our walking trail to guide us to the finish line. God has everything we need in store, and He is everything we need.

This collection of 40-day devotionals contains my honest reflections on the lessons I learned during my journey of battling cancer. It is divided into 7 chapters, with each chapter published as a separate devotional plan. I have penned down Rhema and practical steps revealed through His Word and my personal encounters with Him that had helped me stand victorious in the valley of the shadow of death.

Life isn’t always easy, but life is always beautiful when God is walking with us. It is my prayer that God gives you daily revelations as you read through this devotional, and may it transform you spiritually in your walk with God.

Seek His presence. Be in His presence. Surely goodness, mercy, and unfailing love shall follow you all the days of your life.
