The Birth of Jesus the Messiah

The Birth of Jesus the Messiah

In the Book of Luke, we see the story of an old priest named Zechariah. Zechariah and his wife Elizabeth had no children, and they were very old. Despite this, God miraculously gave them a son who was destined to prepare people’s hearts for the Lord.

When his child was born, Zechariah was filled with the Holy Spirit and prophesied,“And you, my child, will be called a prophet of the Most High; for you will go on before the Lord to prepare the way for him, to give his people the knowledge of salvation through the forgiveness of their sins, because of the tender mercy of our God, by which the rising sun will come to us from heaven to shine on those living in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the path of peace. -Luke 1:76-79

. Zechariah’s Song is a beautiful depiction of the mercy of God, who gives us the knowledge of salvation. To better understand Salvation and how it’s related to the Birth of Jesus the Messiah, we can look at it as a picture with three parts.
