We will focus initially on the first Christian community found in Acts 2:42-47 which showcases the purity of devotion each believer had to God and each other. Many of us have thought about what our heavenly home will be like. In Plan 13 of Revelation, we read the description of heaven and start painting all these wonderful pictures in our minds. But we will never come close to picturing what God our Father has in store for us. So let us take heed of Jesus final message in Revelation and make sure we don’t miss out on what God is preparing for us.

When you read the Bible it is impossible to ignore that Israel had a special place in God’s plan for this world. But what is that plan exactly? What is God’s purpose with Israel? Is the history of this people just a complicated preface to the birth of Jesus Christ and nothing more? Or can we expect more from Israel? Advent is a season of waiting, remembering, and rejoicing. We wait for Christ’s return, celebrating His first coming even as we wait and long for His return. We remember the brokenness of our world and how He will bring restoration and wholeness when He comes. And we praise Him, remembering the joy we have as we place our hope in Christ. The Advent season is a time of preparation that directs our hearts and minds to Christ’s second coming at the end of time and also to the anniversary of the Lord’s birth on Christmas. This Advent Plan can help you to enter in to the season with daily scriptures to prepare you spiritually for the birth of Jesus Christ.

Advent is, of course, a time to prepare. To prepare our homes, lives, and our hearts. Join us as we explore the Bible readings used by the Church to challenge, encourage, and help us prepare, not only to celebrate the incarnation but also the second coming of Christ.
