Why Reading God's Word Is a Big Deal.Esimerkki
The Word of God can change you to your core. It has the power to bring freedom from everything that you feel enslaved to or in bondage from. Whether it’s the bondage of addiction, insecurity, control, anger, hopelessness, or even codependency, through studying the Bible, you can find freedom and confidence in who you are. You can heal through past traumas, find true joy, learn how to set boundaries, have healthy relationships, and experience peace like never before. The Bible teaches how to be a God-honoring spouse, a parent, a respectful hard worker, a beloved friend, and most importantly, a disciple of Jesus. The Bible isn’t a rule book; it’s where to find Christ. It’s where to find rest, comfort, and solace. It’s the source of life.
When you accept Jesus as your Savior, your salvation is sealed for eternity. But your sanctification is why you’re still here on this earth. Salvation gives us the seal of the Holy Spirit for heaven and eternity, but sanctification is how God uses us as a vessel to bring OTHERS to salvation. The definition of sanctification is: “the action of making or declaring something holy.” To sanctify means to be set apart for a sacred purpose. You are set apart. And you have a sacred purpose for the Kingdom of Heaven.
We have all asked ourselves (and God), at some point in our lives, “What is God’s will for my life?” And quite simply, he answers that himself in scripture. He says his will for us is sanctification. He desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. And guess what that truth is? It’s his WORD. God wants you to look more like Christ so that others see Christ in you and ultimately come to eternal salvation because they saw Jesus in and through YOU. In your words, in your actions, in your life, in your relationships, in your hope, and in your perspective.
Your will for life is to know God and share his desire to help others know him, too.
