The Good Life

PÄIVÄ 16 / 20

This is a statement Jesus made and a sad commentary about our lives on Earth. We all know this statement well because we are living it. This world is filled with trouble. The reality of life is we live in a fallen world, a world heavily influenced by darkness (Ephesians 2:2). So, when life goes according to its natural state, things are difficult. Sickness. Sadness. Hardship. That means nearly everything is an uphill battle and can make things sad. So, when anything in life happens that goes against this normal difficulty, we should celebrate, and we should celebrate deeply. Little or big, we should celebrate. A loved one has a birthday and marks another year of a life well lived? It’s worth a party. A young child works hard and sounds out a difficult word? Bust out some dance moves. Dinner gets on the table because God gave you the means to pay for it and the sunshine and rain to grow it. Set the table in thankfulness. Everything is an uphill battle, so any victory is a hard-fought, well-earned one. And it’s worth taking a moment and tuning your heart to joy. We should celebrate the small ones until Jesus ushers in the complete and total victory He earned in His resurrection.
