Crossing the Waters: Storming the Place
Jesus' first disciples were ragtag fishermen, and Jesus' messages and miracles teem with water, fish, fishermen, net-breaking catches, sea crossings, boat-sinking storms, and even a walk on water. Join us this Lenten and Easter season as we enter this world together!

Welcome!
We are glad you chose to worship with us! Each week we join together to celebrate our love for Jesus Christ and find encouragement to serve Christ through intentional discipleship.

Find out more about Mentor UMC here:
http://www.mentorumc.orgWhat if Jesus knows more about what’s best for you than you do? If you believed this, how would your life change?
Peter and his fishing partners were doing their own thing, only to have Jesus completely disrupt their day. Do you have enough space in your schedule for Jesus to disrupt you if He wants to? How can you create that space?
Jesus does not ask Peter, but steps into his boat to teach and then commands Peter to put the boat out again and let down the nets. Peter is clearly skeptical, but He is willing to obey. Are we willing to say yes to Jesus even when we are filled with doubt and unbelief?
Peter is overwhelmed with the knowledge of his sin and his need to change his life, realizing that Jesus has divine authority over his existence. When is the last time that Jesus changed the course of your life by speaking His Word with authority?
Jesus comforts Peter by telling him about what God is doing in this situation. What is God doing in your life through an encounter with Jesus? Are you open to your life changing as a result?

https://www.rightnowmedia.org/content/series/257966?episode=2This Lent we can make a difference! Use the Change the World Day coffee cup to collect money for Rise Against Hunger. Pick up your cup today after the service.
A Keurig cup is about 25 cents. A cup of coffee at McDonald’s is about $1. And of course, Starbucks can set you back at least $4. Consider giving up a cup of coffee and donating that money. Yes, tea, energy drink, and pop drinkers, you can participate, too!
For the 40 days of Lent, these donations will add up. Checks can be made out to MUMC and noted “Change the World Day”. Donations can be placed in the offering plate any Sunday or you can turn in your cup at the end of Lent.
You can give online or through the app, too. Just select “Change the World Day” as the fund from the pull-down menu. More information will follow about where to turn in your cups.
MUMC has committed to raising $10,000 to provide 30,000 meals. If everyone attending service on a Sunday gave $20 this Lent, our goal would be met!
The Mentor 5K Race for Rise Against Hunger/Change the World Day is Saturday, May 11 from 8 AM to 10:30 AM. Meal packing is Saturday, May 18. More information will be coming soon. Thank you!
