In Person First Service: 9:30 a.m. In Person and Streaming Service: 11:00 a.m. (EST) We believe that God has more for us, and that more can be found when we gather together. Life isn’t meant to be lived alone. It’s meant to be lived as part of a family of believers, where together we can experience abundant life as we learn, grow, forgive, love and serve each other and the community.

3 Metrics we have for involvement/investment in this community:
Time, Talent and Treasure.
Time, Talent and Treasure.
What does it mean to be a servant?
Servant meaning: a person who performs duties for others, especially a person employed in a house on domestic duties or as a personal attendant.
Kingdom of God is different: about a King and a Servant at same time.
Servant meaning: a person who performs duties for others, especially a person employed in a house on domestic duties or as a personal attendant.
Kingdom of God is different: about a King and a Servant at same time.
This is why Jesus was so radical.
Matthew 20:28
…the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
Wow! The creator of of everything came to serve!
Matthew 20:28

Wow! The creator of of everything came to serve!
Why should I want to be a servant?
Matthew 25 tells us why service is so important.
Context:
Parable of ten virgins/brides – tells us to be ready at all times.
Parable of talents/bags of gold – tells us to be found steady (faithful) with our talents.
Parable of sheep & goats – gives us the key to entering the KINGDOM! Go!
Jesus tells us how to get ready, be steady and go into the Kingdom.

Let’s read how we enter the Kingdom
Matthew 25:31-33
v. 32 ...and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.
Sheep and goats in Middle East look similar but not the same.
Not all Christians are the same.

Not all Christians are the same.
Why did Jesus separate them?
Matthew 25:34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.
The ‘separated’ get an inheritance.
What Inheritance? A: The Kingdom.

Why do the ‘sheep’ get a reward/inheritance?
Matthew 25:35-40
Jesus gave the key to how to inherit Kingdom of God.
A: Service to – hungry, thirsty, lonely, naked, sick & imprisoned.
...whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

...whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
But now Jesus gets tough.
Matthew 25:41-46
This is intense. The result of not SERVING is eternal separation from God.
Matthew 25:41-46

So what is Jesus doing here?
Jesus is showing us that he is the example (servant) and the executor (King) of the Kingdom.
Example: He showed us how to enter the Kingdom by being a servant himself.
Executor: He decides who enters the Kingdom. He is looking for other servants.

Discussion:
- Study Matthew 25:31-46
- How are you doing on serving?
- Why do you think serving is the key to inheriting the Kingdom?
- What are your next steps to serve?
