No one wants to live near a grave or do anything associated with them. Well, I have good news for you today, Jesus is not in the grave. You can visit the graves of other religious leaders, past presidents, and historical figures. You can visit the graves of past loved ones, but you cannot visit the burial place of the greatest man that ever lived, Jesus Christ, because he rose from the dead and is alive today.
2. “He Made Us Perfectly Holy.”
I want to point out two specific things about this Scripture today.
a. Perfected - to complete, accomplish, consummate (in character) finish, fulfill, make perfect.
Your perfection is not because of your ability to get it right, it is on the perfection of Jesus’ death.
b. This is Forever.
3 stages of sanctification.
1. Past: at salvation
2. Present: happens over the course of your entire life. We grow in grace and knowledge to become more like Jesus.
3. Future: when we get to heaven
There is no expiration date on the sacrifice of Christ. There will never be an end to his guarantee of forgiveness. No matter how many times you mess up, his death will always cover your sins. All you must do is believe in His finished work. Next week in Part 3 we’ll look at how He raised us up!
