Jesus introduced and described a new kingdom, radically different from the world’s offerings. Think for a moment about what you believe these differences are.
What values are lifted as important and essential in the world? Are these the same values of God’s Kingdom? Perhaps! Yet what are the differences? What values are lifted as important and essential in the Kingdom that Jesus offers?
What are the characteristics of Jesus’ community that all have in common? How does this commonality assist in working through differences?
Do you use salt? Considering how Jesus’ followers are salt – how do you add flavor to people’s lives? Are you focused on preserving what is or open to considering that sometimes salt is not helpful?
How is light helpful to you? Considering how Jesus’ followers are light – how do we promote energy and growth, provide warmth, shine for Jesus?
