Courageous Humility Pt. 1Sample

In His presence is abundant gladness and pleasure! Do we know how to enter into the presence of the Lord? Do we need courage to BOLDLY go into His presence? Jesus Christ made the way! His death tore the veil that kept us from the Most Holy Place – God’s presence – since the fall of Adam and Eve. The author of Hebrews says to “Go right into the presence of God!” (NLT). Get right in there! 

As we think of entering into the presence of God, it may feel foreign. It may seem too abstract to enter into God’s presence, yet we now see and are reminded of the biblical fact we are encouraged to go into His presence because abundant joy will meet us there. 

Here are a few questions to consider… 

What are my thoughts on entering the presence of God? 

Have I been taught or encouraged to enter His presence? 

Is the concept of the doing so foreign or uncomfortable? 

Is there a belief or stronghold in my mind, causing me to believe His presence is not for me? 

Perhaps answering these questions honestly and taking them before the Lord in prayer, will then lead us to a place where we are able to go to His presence with sincere hearts fully trusting Him. 

Prayer: Heavenly Father, help us to answer these questions. Search our hearts! Reveal to us our perception, thoughts, and position on what it means to go into Your presence. Help us see, Your presence in our lives is intended to be encountered every single day, similar to the Israelites who were led by a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night (see Exodus 13:21), never without ability to be led by your presence in the light or the darkness. Lord, reveal to us those things keeping us from entering into Your presence on our free will, in our own time, in our own homes. Help us see You are the High Priest making the way, and we do not need to wait to be led by a high priest outside of You, Jesus Christ, in order to be where You are! Thank you Jesus for Your presence, making a way for us to go there, and providing abundant joy! WE thank you and praise You, Lord, amen!
