Paul prays for the church in Ephesus to see what human eyes cannot see on their own. So often we walk through our day near-sighted; only seeing what is immediately before us. And, more often than not, we focus on our past hurts, present anxieties, and future worries. But, this is a “look up” prayer. Ask God to open your eyes. In Jesus, you have hope. In Jesus, you have an inheritance that you can get excited about. In Jesus, you have power to overcome.

Awesome Light, come and open up the eyes of my heart and enlighten me to see beyond myself. Help me to see the world through your eyes. I want to know your hope. I want to know your inheritance. I want to know your power. Help me see you at work in me today. Amen and So Be It.
