North Africa is a diverse, mysterious, and very unique region of the African continent. In the seventh and eighth centuries, Arabs from the Middle East swept across the region in a wave of Muslim conquest. These peoples formed a single population in many areas, as Berbers and Egyptians merged into Arabic and Muslim cultures that have defined the cultural landscape of North Africa ever since.

Because of this cultural landscape, the nations that comprise North Africa are moderately or highly hostile to traditional evangelization, church planting, and missions. A different approach is needed for presenting the Gospel to these creative access nations.

In many cases, missionaries and Christian workers come as teachers, businesspeople, language learners, servants, and domestic workers to reach people’s hearts and build relationships and bridges. The five nations comprising this region need our love, understanding, prayers, intercession, and spiritual warfare in Jesus’ Almighty name to win countless hearts for Him Who loves them beyond reason.

Prayer Points to Consider:

• Pray for the stability of North Africa on every level: government, resources, housing, education, and freedom from oppression.
• Pray for a unified effort among all Christian believers, missionaries, and workers in the major cities, asking for a deep dive of discipleship in the power of God’s Word, increased recognition of the power gifts of the Holy Spirit, and being transformed by the Spirit’s fruit being cultivated by each individual.
• Ask Father for current and future laborers to be focused on increasing the light of Jesus through their lives and being Spirit-led to discern those in their midst who are hungry for Jesus.
• Pray for insight and fresh ideas for creatively sharing the gospel so that Christian businesses would be fruitful and find favor with locals.
• Pray for the unreached and those waiting to be reached! Asking that North Africans would receive dreams, visions, and encounters with the Lord Jesus, understanding Him as the Son of God and Emmanuel—God with us.

Dear Lord Jesus... In this moment, I worship You, ________ (take time to do this). Thank You for all the countries in North Africa: from west to east, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, and Egypt. I pray Your blessing for all Your children who live there, especially the workers and missionaries You have sent here. May these Gospel laborers experience a profound sense of Your Spirit as they surrender daily to You and are enriched by Your Word. Please encourage them as they go, be faithful to hear Your voice, and move forward in creativity for the challenging environment. In Your Almighty Name, Lord Jesus, I speak open doors for ministry and bind the enemy from hindering Your work. I pray for multitudes to come to You, and I am grateful ahead of time for all that is being accomplished. Amen!
