The Breath of LentNäide

“I spread out my hands to you; I thirst for you like a parched land.” The act of spreading out your hands signifies a letting go, a surrender. This verse indicates a deep need for the Lord. The Psalm continues, seemingly begging for the Lord to stay close. The following line stands out, “Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love.” When we are in a season of darkness, don’t we long for the morning to bring us good news, reminders of the love of our God?
Is there something that you have been holding tightly onto? Are you ready to spread out your hands to the Lord, to long for His guidance, His mercy, and His faithfulness? Do you feel prepared to let go? Trusting the Lord is your safest choice - He will never disappoint you.
Inhale: Teach me to do your will
Exhale: for you are my God.
