Forty Days in the PsalmsNäide

Today, we're in Psalm 39, focusing on Humility and Repentance. These themes are crucial because pride is pervasive in our culture. We need to repent and seek Humility through prayer. Jesus, the Perfect Image of God, showed us the path of Humility. He was humble and willing to associate with the least of us.
Psalm 39:4-6 is a beautiful prayer for repentance: "Lord, make me know my end and what is the measure of my days; let me know how fleeting I am." This prayer asks God to open our eyes to the reality of our fleeting lives. Recognizing our smallness in the vast Universe can free us to enjoy God and others more.
Humility allows us to stop fussing and fighting, and instead, find freedom in our lives. One of the best ways to chase after Humility is through prayer, and Psalm 39 is a powerful tool for this.
I (Josiah) am praying for the gift of Humility for everyone listening or reading this today. Even a little bit of Humility has been tremendously freeing in my life. Let's continue to seek God and grow together.
RESPOND IN PRAYER:
Take time today to talk with God about the limitations you have that tend to make you feel weak or like you are not enough. Invite God into these situations and ask Him to help you embrace your human limitations with Humility.
