Ever noticed that Christians aren’t always the most impressive people? Sometimes we try to be cool, relevant, or just fit in—but let’s be honest, we can be a little lame. The good news? Our job isn’t to impress anyone. It’s not even to be nicer or kinder than everyone else.

Jesus calls us to something deeper. He says we are the light of the world (Matt. 5:14). That’s a bold claim, especially since He also calls Himself the light of the world (John 8:12). But here’s the amazing part—because the Holy Spirit lives in us, our words and actions have power. We don’t have to manufacture light; we just reflect Jesus’ light.

A city on a hill isn’t impressive because of its own strength—it’s just visible. We’re called to live openly for Jesus, pointing to Him in our everyday lives. So let’s keep following Him together, letting His light shine through us, even in our weakness.

"For God, who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,’ has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ." (2 Cor. 4:6)
