DAY 22 OF 40

Christians Expect Persecution - Day 22

When reading about the end times, most of us have probably come across the terms “tribulation” or “great tribulation.” Scholars have long debated the nature or definition of one singular great tribulation period. There are many views on what this will look like, how long it will last, or if it even refers to one singular portion of time. Despite these disagreements, one thing we do know for sure is that, as Christians, we will most certainly endure trials and tribulations throughout our lives. The Church, as a whole, will also endure varying degrees of tribulation, as she has since her very inception. Throughout history, Christians have faced torture, imprisonment, and even death as a direct result of their faith in Christ. This is a reality for hundreds of millions of Christians around the world to this very day. We can be encouraged by the fact that death is not the end and that when Jesus returns to make all things right, trials and tribulations will be no more. Today, add our brothers and sisters facing persecution to your prayer list. Commit to praying for them regularly.
