Breaking the Silence of Domestic AbuseNäide

These Dry Bones Shall live
“I’ve been silent before, but I’m not doing that anymore. I have so much more in store. These dry bones shall live.”
(Sherida Pinas, 2024)
This is the chorus of a song I wrote and released last year, titled Dry Bones. I remember sitting at the piano, crying out to God to heal me. He reminded me of Ezekiel 37, where the prophet was commanded to speak to the dry bones.
As I played the same melody over and over, a song began to take shape:
“The pain in my heart, I can’t explain, but You know,
How it feels to be betrayed, as they literally spat in Your face.
You kept looking out for me, waiting for me to see,
That love is not supposed to hurt like this.”
(Sherida Pinas, 2024)
God can breathe life into us. He can revive us, no matter where we are or what we’ve been through. When God revived me through His Word, He reminded me of my identity in Christ. Breaking my silence helped me heal, and God gave me the boldness to speak the truth. Now, my testimony helps others in similar situations find the courage to speak up and seek help.
We overcome through our testimony.
