Fuel the Fire Pt 2Näide

Fuel the Fire Pt 2

DAY 3 OF 4

As Elijah began to rebuild the altar, he did so with twelve stones. He intentionally built the altar with these twelve stones to symbolize the twelve tribes in Israel, reminding the people of their united identity and calling to be the people of God. The people of God gathered together to see the power of God demonstrated before their eyes. In order for the fire of God to fall on the altar, the people had to be united.

Division and conflict hinder the work of God, but unity invites his presence to bring change and transformation. When we come together now as people of God in Christ Jesus, God powerfully moves among us. It is within our community and shared identities as followers of Christ that we will see breakthroughs happen.

Fire does not fall on a single person, but rather on communities devoted to Jesus. We need to commit to being united in our shared identity in Christ, which is greater than any difference we may have. As followers of Jesus, we are taught to keep the body of Christ united. Being united means collaborating and supporting one another, ultimately carrying out God’s plan as one group sustained by His power.

About this Plan

Fuel the Fire Pt 2

God has sparked a flame of spiritual gifts within all of us and now it’s our responsibility to stoke the fire. So how can we not only steward our fire, but see it grow through God’s power to make an impact in our community? This 4-day devotional looks at the example of the prophet Elijah, who trusted in God and saw the fire of heaven fall down, leading to the people of Israel being transformed.
