Life-Changing Lessons From Martha: A 3-Day Plan on Luke 10:38-42Näide
Kingdom Key Two | Prevent Spiritual Stagnation
In a busy world, it's easy to become distracted by tasks, but spiritual growth requires intentional choices. We must prioritize time with Jesus over the endless demands of life, allowing His presence to renew and shape us.
It's essential to understand that Martha’s focus on her tasks risked spiritual stagnation, while Mary chose the “better part” by sitting at Jesus’ feet. This contrast highlights the importance of intentionally pursuing spiritual growth. To prevent stagnation, we must continually seek God’s presence and allow Him to transform us.
Just as Mary prioritized Jesus’ teachings over her to-do list, we must make time for spiritual disciplines like prayer, worship, and Bible study. We are reminded in 2 Corinthians 3:8 that as we behold the glory of the Lord, we are transformed into His image with ever-increasing glory. This transformation requires deliberate effort and time spent with God.
Many women are pulled in multiple directions and, like Martha, are tempted to prioritize tasks over time with God. This lesson on preventing spiritual stagnation emphasizes the importance of continually seeking God’s presence to avoid becoming spiritually stagnant. This lesson reminds and invites us to prioritize our spiritual lives, even in busy seasons.
In your journal, respond to the following questions:
- How do I respond when God gently corrects me?
- In what ways can I embrace God’s discipline as an expression of His love?
I'll see you on Day 3.
