Amazed by His Teaching

When the Sabbath came, he began to teach in the synagogue, and many who heard him were amazed. “Where did this man get these things?” they asked. “What’s this wisdom that has been given him? What are these remarkable miracles he is performing?" Mark‬ ‭6‬:‭2‬ (‭NIV).

When Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were amazed at his teaching, because he taught as one who had authority, and not as their teachers of the law. Matthew‬ ‭7‬:‭28‬-‭29‬ (‭NIV‬‬).

Jesus’ teachings astonished the crowds because He spoke with authority and revealed God’s truth. His words were not like anything they had ever heard - they carried the power to transform lives. Today, his teachings still speak into our lives, guiding us in truth and showing us the way to live. When was the last time Jesus’ words amazed you? How can you approach his teachings with a fresh sense of awe today?

Prayer: Father God, Thank you for the truth and power of Jesus’ teachings. Help me to approach your word with an open heart, ready to be amazed and transformed. Lead me to live in obedience to your will. In Jesus name, Amen.
