Saying No to SinSample
Thanks to Jesus, you have been redeemed from your sinful nature.
Thanks to His death and resurrection, you have died to that old sinful man. And because of that, you are no longer obligated to live according to that old nature either.
In Romans 7:6 it says that you are now released from the law, having died to what you were held by [the sin nature], so that we should serve in the newness of the Spirit [your new nature born of God], and not in the oldness of the letter.
That is a substantial change!
You are no longer a slave to sin. You are dead to sin!
Romans 6:6-7
“...knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. For he who has died has been freed from sin.”
When you said “yes” to King Jesus, the resurrection power of the Holy Spirit came into you (Ephesians 1:19-20) and that sinful nature was taken out of you. He ripped it out all at once and raised you into a “new man” who is one in Christ.
We have also been raised from the dead by the same resurrection power that raised Christ from the dead;
we’ve been raised from darkness into light;
raised from bondage to sonship.
It made us free from the law and from the power of sin. That old man is very dead!
2 Corinthians 5:17
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”
You are a new person! That is the power of Jesus' salvation!
The new man you have become is not subject to sin or darkness or Satan. You are subject to the living God.
You now have His nature. You are now righteous before God by that nature.
You are holy, pure, and spotless. No longer a “poor sinner”.
Ephesians 2:1
"And you He [the Holy Spirit] made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins,”
Amen!
