Day 13: The Power of Giving
Giving is one of the most countercultural acts we can engage in. The world tells us to hold onto what we have, and to build security by accumulating more. But God’s Kingdom operates on a different principle: when we give, we gain.
The Bible is full of stories that show the power of generosity. Think of the boy who gave Jesus his five loaves and two fish. It seemed insignificant in the face of feeding thousands, but in Jesus’ hands, it became more than enough. Generosity doesn’t require abundance; it requires faith.
Fasting is a powerful reminder that everything we have comes from God. When we give—whether it’s our time, our resources, or our talents—we are declaring, “Lord, I trust You as my source.” Giving aligns our hearts with God’s heart and opens the door for His blessings to flow in and through our lives.
Take a moment today to reflect: Is there an area of your life where God is calling you to give? It might be financial, but it could also be your time, encouragement, or forgiveness. Write down one practical way you can be generous this week, and commit it to prayer.
Pray: “Lord, help me to have a generous heart. Teach me to give with faith and joy, trusting that You are my provider. Use my giving to bless others and glorify Your name.”
Remember, when you give, you reflect the heart of the ultimate Giver—our God, who gave His only Son so that we could have life.

About this Plan
Over the next 21 days, we are setting aside time to seek God intentionally—through fasting, prayer, and giving. Matthew 6 reminds us that these three practices draw us closer to the heart of God and position us to experience His faithfulness in extraordinary ways. Each day, we'll be walking with you through stories from Scripture, personal reflections, and encouragement for this journey. Take time to reflect, pray, and let God speak to you. We're believing that as we lean into this together, He will do above and beyond all we could ask or imagine.
